SEAT promoting urban micro-mobility

SEAT, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Volkswagen Group just made its first movement to enter the Micro-mobility segment by creating a new business unit, SEAT Urban Mobility, which will offer electric and connected solutions to move around cities, targeting mainly vehicle-sharing schemes and providers.

The announcement included three types of vehicles, SEAT e-KickScooter Concept, SEAT e-Scooter Concept, and SEAT Minimó.

SEAT Minimó, an electric vehicle designed with the purpose of having the safety and comfort of a car with the agility and easy parking of a motorcycle, was unveiled earlier this year during the Mobile World Congress 2019 (MWC) in Barcelona, and in words of SEAT President, Luca de Meo, “This is the solution that carsharing companies have been waiting for, a model that will be key for improved profitability of this type of companies. The concept we are presenting today responds to the needs of both cities and carsharing providers.”

It is expected to see both SEAT’s e-KickScooter and e-Scooter to go on sale during 2020 and SEAT Minimó in late 2021 or early 2022.
